Family Bonds and Fresh Food: Mother-Daughter Duo Review Local Cuisine

By Leanna Pistone, BEAT reporter

BRUNSWICK, OH- A mother-daughter duo is showing Medina County where to get the best food. Patricia Knittel and her daughter Joanne are able to show their strong bond in the form of delicious cuisine. Knittel and Joanne travel around Medina County and try different restaurants, then post them on www.facebook.com/DineMedinaCountyOhio

Patricia Knittel lived in the Buffalo, New York area as a kid. She was the eldest child with a little brother and sister. When Knittel was younger, she worked in show business as a singer in an orchestra. From there, she became a telephone operator in a camera store. It was there that she met her future husband, with whom she had two kids—a daughter (Joanne) and a son.

Knittel moved on to helping with her husband's business, in which he was a general contractor. She would answer calls and type contracts. A couple of years after Knittel’s husband died, Patricia moved in with Joanne, who was a teacher and guidance counselor in Medina City Schools.

Towards the end of 2021, Joanne started taking Patricia around to different restaurants because they were opening after Covid. They also wanted to help local businesses, so they started posting their reviews on Dine Medina County Ohio’s Facebook page. People enjoyed their content a lot, so they continued to do it.

Joanne and Knittel typically go out on the weekends to the restaurants. They both said that they love meeting new people along the way. Recently, they both met Cathy Keller from Keller Meats, and her friends and family. Both mentioned how nice they were and how fun it was. Knittel and Joanne’s favorite restaurants to go to are pizza and barbecue restaurants.

Today, Patricia Knittel is a local celebrity, and she doesn’t even notice it. “I didn't realize I was one,” said Patricia when Joanne asked her if she knew. As long as it continues to bring happiness to themselves and others, they will continue it for the foreseeable future. Look for them at your favorite Medina County restaurant soon!
